Personal Branding Across Cultures

On 21st of November I was in the beautiful city of Antwerp to give a workshop on Personal Branding & Culture to students and staff of AIESEC at the University of Antwerpen, Belgium. You can view the slides below.

The central question in this presentation was whether it was possible to establish a universal and consistent personal brand or image? How about cultural differences? What is the role of social media and new media?

Culture plays an important role in how you are perceived. Having been rooted in individualistic cultures, personal branding is not as effective in various parts of the world.

This presentation discusses how culture influences one’s image and what you should be aware of when you apply branding guidelines developed in the Western world to other cultures.
